An Update On Dith Pran

Update on Dith Pran from Marilynn Yee:

Pran is strong in spirit and mind but his body is not.

Pran has taken a turn for the worse. He is very weak. He is being fed intravenously and is on self administered pain relief medication. Pran was doing well on Thursday and Friday last week and had many visitors. During the weekend he felt more and more tired and on Sunday afternoon was taken back to the Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital again. He was nauseous and was vomiting, unable to drink liquid for a cat scan. He was admitted back to the hospital that evening and will probably be staying there now.

His daughter, son and daughter-in-law are here from Maryland and Virginia.

He feels blessed to have all his good friends at work and is thankful for the love and prayers everyone has sent to him.

He has enjoyed so very many visitors.

However, at this time, he has requested that visitors be restricted to family members until further notice. On Tuesday afternoon, the hospital chaplain was meeting with family members. The family is arranging for a Buddhist Monk to visit and perform a spiritual ceremony. He wants everyone to know that he is nervous but not afraid of what is ahead. He also wants everyone to know that he is thankful for all the experiences that he has had and grateful for all the friendships that he has made. Once again he wanted to thank everyone for their letters and cards and for their thoughts and wishes and prayers for him. And as he always says "WHAT'DA COUNTRY!!"
