I have been working with the wires and dailys for over 20 years in the New York area shooting news and some sports. I am happily married and live on the Upper West Side. Hobbies include hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, canoeing and DJ'ing.
I’m a visual journalist, specializing in still photography and audio and video production. While studying photojournalism at UNC-Chapel Hill, I traveled the world telling stories, from covering the Special Olympic World Summer Games in China to reporting on a small cloister of nuns in Peru. I currently work as a multimedia editor at NBC Universal, working on the national desk for ten local media websites around the country and producing video for web, broadcast, and NBC in Taxi.
Freelance. I was raised in the Washington, DC area and graduated from the University of Maryland (College Park, MD) in 1978 with a BS in Journalism. I was a staff photographer for the Washington Star (DC) from 1979 until 1981 when the newspaper folded. I was a staff photographer for the Washington Times (DC) from 1982 until 1985 when I left to work for Newsday. I worked for Newsday for 23 years and was laid off with 12 other Newsday photographers in December of 2008.
