William V. Finn Memorial Boat Ride

We've had to make an adjustment to the upcoming William V. Finn Memorial Boat Ride on June 25th. The trip will now commence at 3:00 p.m., not 6:30. This is due to the all-volunteer staffing requirements of the Fireboat Harvey. We should be through by 5:00. Departure is from Pier 66 at West 26th St. & the Hudson River.

****Please keep those RSVP's to historian@nyppa.org coming! Deadline to reserve is June 18, and then they will offer spots to the general public! Members may bring guests. Just let us know how many are in your party.

Again, the trip will occur on the anniversary of the horrific collision of the Empress Bay and Nebraska in the East River at which NYPPA Past-President William V. Finn collapsed and died while on assignment for the Journal-American. The Fireboat Harvey was an active FDNY vessel from 1931 to 1994, and operated during this incident in 1958.

There is no charge, however members are encouraged to donate within their means to the all-volunteer efforts of the Fireboat John J. Harvey, a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation.
