I wanted to share something with you. As a freelance videojournalist/stringer, I was covering the shooting of the off duty 25 year old rookie cop. I got to the scene on 125 right after the officer was taking away. It was a very emotional scene. A short while later a women cop ran over to a bunch of officers on the corner. What she said put the 15 or so men in an uproar. It was obvious that the young officer had passed.

An hour or so later, I went to Harlem hospital to cover the press conference. It was raining and we
were told to wait outside under the awning. There we stood, 3 video guys from the main stations, 6 still guys, myself and a few radio people for nearly 2 hours. We were standing by the main doors to the hospital. Every 2 minutes or so a group of cops who had just found out the news, rushed to through the doors. The emotion on their harden faces said it all.
